Q Do I have to be a member of Alpine Chapel to attend Celebrate Recovery meetings?
A No. CR is open to anyone who wants to find help for real life issues.
Q Is CR just for someone dealing with alcohol & drug issues?
A No. Only about 30% of the people attending CR are dealing with chemical dependence issues. The rest are dealing with all the other issues we face in our day-to-day lives that may be affecting our relationships- with our family, our friends, or our Lord.
Q What is hurt, habit, or hang-up?
A A hurt, habit or hang-up is something, anything, that hinders your walk with God.
Habits A habit is an addiction to someone or something (alcohol, drugs, food, gambling, sex, shopping, smoking, etc.)
Hang-ups A hang-up is a negative mental attitude that is used to cope with people or adversity (anger, depression, fear, unforgiveness, etc.)
Q I am concerned that if I come everyone at church and the community will know my business.
A No. Confidentiality is one of the cornerstones of CR.
Q Do I need to wait until the next "cycle" of CR starts before I come?
A No. There is not a cycle or schedule that one must follow. Someone can begin attending CR at any time.
Q I'd like to come but I can’t commit to attending every Friday night.
A Long-term commitments are not required. You can come to CR whenever you can. You don’t have to sign-up or make a reservation to attend, just come.
Q I don’t personally have any issues but I know of someone who does. How can I get the information to them?
A The best way to understand CR is to come and see it first-hand. You can ask questions and gather information to take back to someone else.
Q I have small children. Is there childcare available?
A Yes. Childcare is available; the cost is $4 per child.
Q I heard you have dinner. What time is that and what is the cost?
A Dinner is served from 6:00-6:45pm and the cost is $4 for adults and $1 for kids
